Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a separate decree on improving transport management and reducing traffic congestion in Tashkent. He announced this at a meeting on the development of the city.

A traffic management center will be established in the capital, which will manage the transport system based on a unified approach. This center will analyze traffic and pedestrian flows on every street, at every intersection using artificial intelligence and will be engaged in preventing traffic jams and accidents.

In 2026, two checkpoints at the entrance to the capital will be moved outside the city limits, and three will be reconstructed. In their place, parking lots for at least 3,500 trucks and 5,500 cars will be created, as well as campsites for the population. A public transport network will be connected to these points. Guests will be able to leave their cars and use public transport.

The Tashkent city administration was tasked with creating 100 “smart” intersections with a unified traffic light management system in 2026, constructing 30,000 parking lots, reconstructing 300 bus stops, constructing 40 km of pedestrian and 20 km of bicycle paths, repairing 100 km of roads, and building overpasses and tunnels in the Yunusobod and Yashnabod districts. 200 electric buses will be launched by 2026.

Earlier, it was reported that the creation of parking lots at the entrances to Tashkent will not restrict entry or prohibit vehicle traffic. Car seats will be created as an option and convenience for citizens.
