On December 17, information appeared about the dismissal of the khokim of the Yunusabad district of Tashkent, Bakhodir Abduvaliyev.
The khokim has been in office since January 2022. Official information about the change in the district administration’s leadership has not yet been released. Nevertheless, the social media posts were enough for the residents of Yunusobod to start rejoicing in the upcoming changes and leaving thanks to the president for a good New Year’s gift.
Bahodir Abduvaliyev was constantly criticized for being closed-off and having no feedback from the population of his assigned district. Yunusobod has consistently been ranked the worst district in the “Xalq Nazorati” portal’s ranking for work with residents: in August 2024, the district dropped below two points out of 10, and the local administration also leads in the number of responses to citizens’ appeals.
Reports of the hokim’s dismissal appeared after Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Yunusobod district, where he inspected the new facilities, spoke with residents, and held a meeting on the further development of Tashkent.
