A 33-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan was sentenced to 15 years in Moscow for assisting in the financing of militants of the international terrorist community “Katiba Tawhid wal-Jihad”, TASS reports.

According to the investigation, the woman supported individuals fighting in Syria. In October 2022, while in Moscow, she provided her bank card details and access to a mobile bank to radicals.

The card received 6.5 thousand rubles from another person, which was later used to finance terrorist activities. The citizen was found guilty of assisting in the financing of terrorism. The female figure herself did not admit her guilt.

Earlier, it was reported that an illegal migrant from Uzbekistan was detained in the US for alleged involvement in terrorism. In his homeland, the man has been wanted since 2022 for recruiting people into a terrorist organization and calling for jihad online.
