The Japan News, one of Japan’s most prestigious English-language publications, which is part of the Yomiuri Shimbun media group, published an article about the development of relations between Uzbekistan and Japan.
The authors of the material pointed to significant positive changes taking place in Uzbekistan. The reforms being carried out have transformed the republic into a “locomotive” promoting rapprochement between the countries of the entire Central Asian region.
Regular meetings of the leaders of the countries of the region, agreements on border issues, as well as integration in the field of infrastructure and trade, are emphasized. Japan considers Uzbekistan not only as a reliable strategic partner but also as the main “gateway” for access to all Central Asian countries.
The Japanese authorities consider Uzbekistan the main country in the region in the areas of transport, energy, digital infrastructure, and security.
It should be noted that on December 19-20, Shavkat Mirziyoyev will hold a number of bilateral meetings in Japan, as well as participate in the first summit of the “Central Asia+Japan” format.
