On December 17, personnel changes took place in the Tashkent khokimiyats system.

The head of the Yunusabad district, Bakhodir Abduvaliev, was dismissed from his post almost three years after his appointment, and two days after the president visited Yunusabad. Residents of the district began celebrating the khokim’s dismissal even before the news was officially confirmed.

The new khokim is the young and promising 31-year-old Abror Saidaliyev, who previously served as deputy khokim of the Mirzo-Ulugbek district for finance and poverty reduction.

Furthermore, the young, outspoken, and relatively successful khokim of the Sergeli district, 37-year-old Elbek Shukurov, who had held the post since August 2020, resigned. The new khokim is 43-year-old Davron Ismatov, who previously headed the Tashkent city administration of the Central Bank.
