Uzbekistan Will be Hit by Extreme Heat
Wind intensification is also expected across the country, with possible dust storms.
From June 16 to 19, a very hot air mass from the south is expected to move into Uzbekistan, reports the head of Uzhydromet Sherzodkhuja Khabibullakhuja.
In Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region, temperatures will rise to 40–42°C on June 16–17, and from June 17–19 in other regions. In some southern and desert areas, temperatures may reach 43–44°C. Wind speeds are expected to increase to 13–18 m/s across the country, with dust storms possible in some areas.
It was also previously reported that dry air will begin to move into Uzbekistan over the weekend. The temperature will rise to almost 40 degrees. Short-term rain and thunderstorms are expected in some mountainous areas. Mudflows and floods are possible in foothill and mountainous regions.
