Shavkat Mirziyoyev was awarded the second Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize
The President of Kyrgyzstan and the President of Tajikistan also received the award for peace and security in Central Asia.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev has been awarded the second Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize, according to TASS.
The award was also given to the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Over the past two years, the countries have succeeded in resolving all disputed border issues that remained unresolved after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Thanks to the political determination of the region’s leaders, historic agreements were achieved regarding interstate borders and water resources, — noted the press secretary of the President of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov.
According to him, the Peace Prize is a recognition of the leader of our state’s contribution to strengthening trust and good neighbourliness in Central Asia.
This high assessment underscores the significance of Uzbekistan’s course towards strengthening peace, stability, and promoting humanistic values, — Asadov said.
Recall that on 6 August, Shavkat Mirziyoyev was nominated for the Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize by the “Russian Peace Foundation”. The President was scheduled to be honoured for his significant contribution to promoting universal and equal security based on the rule of law, as well as for fostering a multipolar world.
Earlier, it was reported that Shavkat Mirziyoyev was awarded the Turkmenistan Order “For Contribution to the Development of Cooperation”. The Turkmen side recognised the merits of the leader of Uzbekistan during the UN Conference. The Head of State expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedow, and the Turkmen people.
