Central Asia at the Threshold of a New Era — Shavkat Mirziyoyev
The President of Uzbekistan noted that an atmosphere of mutual trust, good neighborliness, and respect has strengthened in the region.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that for the first time in many years, the countries of Central Asia have entered a new stage aimed at jointly moving forward, ensuring common development and stability. The article of the President of Uzbekistan “Central Asia at the Threshold of a New Era” was published in the newspaper “Yangi Uzbekistan”.
According to the head of state, this process “did not happen by itself”, but is the result of the political will and purposeful efforts of the leaders of the Central Asian countries. An atmosphere of mutual trust, good neighborliness, and respect has strengthened in the region, and large-scale cooperation has become a necessity.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia have created a new architecture of regional cooperation, and the next summit in Tashkent will become an important milestone in building a stable, interconnected, and prosperous region.
One of the most important achievements of the new stage of regional interaction is the final settlement of border issues. What until recently seemed impossible has now become reality. The borders that once separated us have now become bridges of friendship and cooperation.
The signing in March 2025 of the Treaty on the Intersection of the Borders of the Three States and the Khujand Declaration between Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan is of historical significance. This event can rightfully be called epochal, — the president emphasized.
Earlier, Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed strengthening cooperation between the CIS countries. The President paid special attention to the situation in Afghanistan.
