Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on Independence Day

On August 29, Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke at a ceremony celebrating Uzbekistan’s 34th anniversary of independence, as reported by the presidential press service.

The Head of State congratulated the multinational population of Uzbekistan and their compatriots on the 34th anniversary of independence.

Thanks to the large-scale reforms initiated based on the idea of creating a New Uzbekistan, each of our compatriots feels in practice and widely enjoys the rights and freedoms granted by independence. It is thanks to this sublime idea that we have rethought our three thousand years of history and rich culture, revived the traditions of the First and Second Renaissancees, and are confidently taking practical steps towards the Third Renaissance, — said the Head of State.

The President spoke to the youth

Our dear children, always remember: happiness comes only to those who are determined, and victory comes only to those who fight! The future is created by the brave, and history is created by the victors. Always strive forward!

The motherland, the people, and the President will always be a reliable support and backing for you in your good endeavors, — said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Head of Uzbekistan noted that a tense geopolitical situation continues in the world, and Uzbekistan will remain committed to using all its strength and resources to strengthen independence, peace, and interethnic and interfaith harmony within the country. Shavkat Mirziyoyev reaffirmed the country’s foreign policy stance.

• raising relations with the states of Central Asia to a new qualitative level;
• Expansion of traditional, multifaceted, and strategic partnership links with the CIS and SCO countries.
• development of trade, economic, financial, investment, and technological cooperation, strengthening multifaceted partnerships and practical ties with the USA, European countries, and other developed states;

• constructive and practical cooperation with the government of Afghanistan;

The President emphasised that Uzbekistan is committed to Palestine’s right to establish its own independent state in accordance with UN resolutions.

Uzbekistan will also take part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in China, as well as in several meetings and events organised within the forum.

Despite the difficulties and trials, we will steadfastly continue to deepen democratic reforms, strengthen national unity and solidarity, and never stray from the path of ensuring a decent life for our people. And we will certainly complete the noble work we have started, aimed at the future.

We, the citizens of Uzbekistan, are one people, one country, one family. We share a common destiny and future, happiness and achievements. I am confident that each of our compatriots, deeply aware of these pressing and urgent demands of the times, will selflessly serve their beloved homeland in the name of its prosperity, — Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Head of State reminded everyone that numerous threats exist globally, which can be addressed through unity.

After the President’s speech, the national anthem of Uzbekistan was played, and the elite flight crew of the country’s Air Force organised a lively air show featuring Su-25 attack aircraft.

Subsequently, a festive fireworks display was organised.
