Starting from the next academic year, artificial intelligence classes will be introduced for high school students, the presidential press service reports.

For the new subject, 2,000 computer labs and 6,300 interactive whiteboards are required. To achieve this, funds will be allocated from the state budget in 2026. For gifted students, branches of specialised schools for Al-Khwarizmi IT, Mirzo-Ulugbek Engineering, and Ibn Sina Natural Sciences will be established in the regions.

Now, all of them will be directly connected to technical universities in the regions. Graduates who achieve good results will be admitted to the second year of these universities, — the message says.

In 2026, two of the most prestigious international chemistry and computer science Olympiads will take place among schoolchildren. The Olympics will be hosted in Uzbekistan for the first time. The Prime Minister has been instructed to oversee all organisational matters related to the holding of these Olympiads in Tashkent.

Earlier, it was reported that a Unified State Exam (USE) would be introduced in Uzbekistan. The new testing method will save students’ time and lessen the financial burden on parents.
