Where in Uzbekistan is the most expensive plov found?
The cheapest portion of plov turned out to be in Karakalpakstan.

The Statistics Agency estimated the cost of preparing one kilogram of plov in various regions of Uzbekistan in August 2025, based on the average ingredient prices.
Tashkent has traditionally been the leader in the highest prices. In the capital, a kilogram of plov costs 117 thousand soums. By February 2025, the price had decreased by 10 thousand. The top three also included Tashkent and Fergana regions, where the price per kilogram was 113 and 115 thousand soums respectively.
The cheapest portion of plov was found in Karakalpakstan — the price per kilogram was only 98.5 thousand soums. Second place went to the Andijan region — 105 thousand soums. According to the full list, the price of a kilogram of pilaf was as follows:
- Karakalpakstan — 98,600 soums;
- Andijan region — 105 500 soums;
- Bukhara region — 108 400 soums;
- Jizzakh region — 110 000 soums;
- Kashkadarya region — 111 700 soums;
- Navoi region — 110 000 soums;
- Namangan region — 109 400 soums;
- Samarkand region — 113 400 soums;
- Surkhandarya region — 111 500 soums;
- Syrdarya region — 105 700 soums;
- Tashkent region — 113 600 soums;
- Fergana region — 115 000 soums;
- Khorezm region — 107 000 soums;
- Tashkent — 117 400 soums.
As a reminder, Yulduz Usmanova criticised the traffic jams in Samarkand during the distribution of seven tons of plov. The singer stated that rather than organising such events, the authorities responsible should have repaired the roads.
