The air quality in Tashkent has worsened to dangerous levels

The capital has once again ranked among the top five cities for air quality.

On 1 September, the concentration of finely dispersed particles PM2.5 was 36 μg/m3, which is 7.2 times higher than the WHO recommended level, according to IQAir data.

Thus, as of 08:00, the levels of ozone pollutants and PM10 in Tashkent’s air did not exceed the maximum permissible limits. However, the concentration of hazardous particles PM2.5 was 7.2 times higher than the WHO standard. Air quality is considered harmful to vulnerable groups.

Moreover, the capital has once again ranked among the top ten countries worldwide in air quality ratings.

It should be reminded that Uzbekistan was not on the list of countries meeting WHO air quality standards. The Swiss company IQAir showed a report for 2024.
