Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a mahalla in Namangan and talked with residents
The President also visited a neighborhood with difficult conditions.

During his trip to Namangan region, Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Shurariq neighborhood in Norin district and spoke with local residents, listening to their opinions and suggestions regarding the neighborhood’s problems, the presidential press service reports.
Currently, the territory needs improvement. In particular, internal roads need to be repaired, and the neighborhood also lacks street lighting and storm sewerage. More than 5 thousand people live in the mahalla, including 62 low-income families, 118 unemployed, and 157 residents working abroad.
At the same time, it was noted that the location of the mahalla along the inter-district road opens up wide opportunities for the development of entrepreneurship, trade, and the service sector, as vacant buildings can be effectively used within the framework of public-private partnerships.
We will fundamentally transform this mahalla, bring it the spirit of New Uzbekistan. The streets will be improved, and the appearance of the settlement will be renewed. People will have decent conditions for living, walking, and relaxing with children, — the president noted.
The head of state also gave instructions to responsible officials on how to transform the mahalla into an exemplary one. In particular, it is planned to develop a master plan for the mahalla to create a modern urban environment and favorable conditions for entrepreneurship, on the basis of which plots will be offered to initiative residents with ready-made projects and the necessary infrastructure. As a result, the potential of the mahalla should increase significantly, and it should become a center of development for the five neighboring mahallas.
In addition, a modern mahalla center and a walking area, children’s and sports playgrounds, a library, vocational training and foreign language centers, and a bank branch are planned to be built on the territory. The school and kindergartens will be overhauled as part of the state investment program. The streets will be paved with asphalt, decorative and fruit trees, and flowers will be planted. Old, low-yielding orchards will be replaced with new ones. Residents will put their homes in order on the basis of a social contract.
It was emphasized that a resolution aimed at intensifying work at the grassroots level throughout the country is being prepared. A total of 5 trillion soums will be allocated from the state budget to give districts and mahallas a new look. Specifically, Namangan region’s Kosonsoy and Norin districts will receive 100 billion soums, while two “difficult” neighborhoods in each of the remaining districts will receive 5 billion soums. It is planned that these measures will make it possible to turn them into sustainable developing territories.
Earlier, it was reported that Shavkat Mirziyoyev had studied plans and projects for the development of Navoi region. The authorities plan to intensify the development of the agricultural sector, as well as increase the development of deposits.
