During the discussion, it was noted that in recent years, large-scale initiatives have been implemented in the country to protect nature, improve atmospheric air quality, increase green spaces, and adapt to climate change. At the same time, the existing management system remains fragmented, as responsibility and authority are distributed among different agencies, which reduces the effectiveness of the measures being implemented.
In this regard, the authorities proposed to concentrate the implementation and financing of environmental projects to improve the state of the environment and atmospheric air in cities, expand green zones, develop environmental culture, and preserve natural heritage in a single management system. The importance of ensuring the targeted and transparent use of resources was also noted.
The responsible officials presented to the head of state plans to strengthen environmental control and expand the powers of relevant structures. Furthermore, mechanisms for prompt response to violations, preventing illegal tree felling and air pollution, expanding public participation in environmental oversight, and measures to improve environmental regulation in industry and ensure the preservation of green spaces in settlements were discussed.
The President approved the proposals and gave instructions to finalize them in the context of further improving the quality and efficiency of management, strengthening control and accountability in the field.
Earlier, a request was sent to the Ministers regarding air pollution issues. The deputies asked to provide detailed explanations on what is being done to reduce industrial emissions.
