Nearly five million people visited the museums of Uzbekistan

Approximately a third of them were foreigners.

According to the National Statistics Committee, in 2024, Uzbekistan’s museums attracted 4.8 million visitors, including 1.4 million foreign tourists.

According to the data, there are currently 138 museums operating in the country, including branches. At the same time, the most popular sites are those of Samarkand and Bukhara. In particular, the Samarkand State Museum-Reserve proved to be the most visited, with 1,035,325 people visiting it during the year.

The Registan ensemble was visited by 908,225 people, while the Museum of Glory and Honor in Tashkent attracted 656,355 visitors during this period. Furthermore, the most popular museums were the Bukhara State Museum-Reserve and the Ichan-Kala State Museum-Reserve, which received 489,208 and 456,917 visitors respectively.

It was previously reported that tourists will have the opportunity to visit Uzbek homes for dinner. A new platform will help develop tourism.
