In Tashkent, a young man harassed a woman and was detained for five days
In court, the defendant declared that he “did not control his actions”.

Nemolchi reports that a young man who harassed a woman at the entrance was only detained for five days.
The incident took place on 8 September. The woman was returning home when a 19-year-old man approached her at the entrance. He began asking for her phone number, and when she refused, he started touching her. In court, the defendant stated that he had not fully controlled his actions and that he became scared and ran out of the entrance after the woman screamed.
It turned out that the man had a criminal record. The accused admitted his guilt and asked the court to reduce his sentence. The court ordered him to be detained for 5 days under Article 41-1 of the Administrative Code (sexual harassment).
It is reassuring that the woman filed a complaint against him and the perpetrator was punished. It is essential to always bring such cases to court so that men who “don’t know how to control their actions” understand that the Law supports women—no one has the right to use any violence against them, — the message says.
As a reminder, a man on the Izmir-Samarkand flight harassed a passenger and touched his lower waist. Law enforcement officers did not want to initiate a case against the plane’s offender, citing “the meaninglessness of the statement”.
