In Uzbekistan, measures have been approved to strengthen the social protection of employees of state medical institutions, according to a presidential decree.
Starting from 2026, an annual incentive for healthcare workers for Medical Workers’ Day will be introduced in the amount of no less than the minimum wage — 1.2 million soums from the Material Incentives Fund. Also, a republican competition will be organized in the nominations: “Best Manager”, “Best Polyclinic”, “Best Doctor”, “Best Mid-level Medical Worker”.
Winners will receive one-time prizes: for institutions — 500 million soums, for doctors and managers — 30 million soums. Individual winners will be nominated for the title of “Honored Healthcare Worker”. Starting April 1, 2026, state medical institutions will switch to a five-day work week with shifts on weekends and holidays.
From January 1, 2026, additional incentive measures are introduced:
- doctors who have implemented new treatment methods with a confirmed result will be paid 50 BRV;
- children of medical workers with 15 years of experience are compensated up to 30% of the tuition fee (not more than 15 BCV);
- fully cover the costs of publishing articles in impact factor journals;
- The state will cover 25% of the initial mortgage payment for 500 medical workers annually;
- employees who have passed national accreditation are assigned a 10% bonus to their salary.
- Also, medical workers with 3 years of experience will be entitled to free high-tech medical care once a year, and those with 15 years of experience — free vouchers to sanatoriums. The amount of payments for public services for them will be reduced by half.
Recall that the president instructed to make medicine closer to people. Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with a report on the measures on further improving the healthcare system in the country.
