Since the beginning of 2025, law enforcement agencies in Uzbekistan have recorded over 9,000 illegal dumping cases, according to the press service of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change.

According to the information, during the period from January to November, specialists identified 9817 such violations. At the same time, they could be recorded using IP cameras installed throughout the country. It is noted that in 3714 cases, violators dumped garbage from cars. Currently, specialists have already taken appropriate measures and imposed penalties for 2,232 cases, with total fines amounting to 956 million 887 thousand soums.

Currently, work is underway to bring to justice another 7,585 cases. The department reported that the largest number of offenses was recorded in the Andijan region — 3001 cases. Namangan region came in second with 2,937 cases detected by law enforcement officers, while Fergana region took the top three with 1,645 cases. Further, the regions were arranged as follows:

  • Samarkand region – 981 cases;
  • Tashkent region – 434 cases;
  • Surkhandarya region – 250 cases;
  • Syrdarya region – 144 cases;
  • Tashkent city – 121 cases;
  • Khorezm region – 117 cases;
  • Navoi region – 99 cases;
  • Kashkadarya region – 70 cases;
  • Jizzakh region – 16 cases;
  • Bukhara region – 2 cases.

The department noted that the installed cameras allow detecting not only waste discharge but also other types of environmental violations and taking measures against them.

Earlier, it was reported that residents of Tashkent could now monitor garbage trucks online. The capital’s administration and the Ministry of Transport have launched a website that also shows the arrival time of special vehicles and the volume of waste taken out.
