Authorities shut down more than a hundred greenhouses in Tashkent and the Tashkent region for polluting the air
The Ministry of Ecology, the Prosecutor General’s Office, and the Tashkent city and regional administrations have formed a working group consisting of more than 300 specialists.

In Tashkent and Tashkent region, the activities of 106 business entities were temporarily suspended, and administrative fines were imposed on the owners of 58 greenhouses, the press service of the Ministry of Ecology reports.
The Ministry of Ecology, the Prosecutor General’s Office, and the Tashkent and Tashkent regional administrations have formed a working group comprising over 300 specialists. The group conducted a full inventory of greenhouse farms, industrial enterprises, construction materials factories, and other large manufacturers, as well as social facilities located in the capital region.
4,869 facilities were inspected, including 595 greenhouse farms (381 in Tashkent region and 214 in Tashkent), 2,265 social facilities, and 1,998 industrial enterprises and construction materials factories. Preventive and explanatory work has been carried out at all facilities.
During the inspections, violations of requirements in the field of atmospheric air protection were revealed. Cases of harmful chemical, physical, and biological substances being released into the atmosphere have been recorded at individual enterprises. Strict measures have been taken for each identified case, aimed at preventing and reducing such violations.
In particular, for violation of the rules for the operation of smoke extraction devices:
- 58 owners of greenhouse farms were brought to administrative responsibility;
- the activities of 106 farms were suspended;
- official warnings were sent to 387 farms regarding the need to bring activities in line with environmental requirements and the inadmissibility of using film, car tires, and plant residues as fuel.
It should be noted that earlier, a working group led by Deputy Prosecutor General Sherzod Tukhtaboev, with the participation of representatives of environmental services, the khokimiyat, the sanitary service, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, conducted ecological raids and inspections of greenhouse farms in Tashkent and Tashkent region, including in the Zangiata district.
Earlier, a request was sent to the ministers regarding air pollution issues. Deputies requested detailed updates on measures to reduce industrial emissions.
