On December 17, the head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva, visited Urgut, the pride of the Samarkand region, and familiarized herself with the condition of the hospital, built in 1972.

Mirziyoyeva arrived in the city via the new railway from Samarkand. According to her, this highway will become an important infrastructure element that will help to form a free economic zone, as well as reduce the distance and costs for entrepreneurs and passengers.

The head of the PA also familiarized himself with the project to create trade, logistics, and medical centers on the Uzbek-Tajik border. The main goal is to transform the territory from a transit point into a full-fledged location of economic activity. The new logistics center is designed to serve up to 100 trucks per day.

At the same time, logistics will have not only a transportation function, but also an option that increases the added value of products. Bureaucracy in customs procedures will be reduced, document processing will be expedited, and transparency will be ensured. A diagnostic center for 200 patients per day will be created there, and 800 entrepreneurs will work in the shopping center.

The implementation of the project will allow citizens of Tajikistan to use trade and medical services without passing through passport control, unnecessary documents, and queues, which will significantly simplify cross-border interaction and strengthen economic ties between regions.

Saida Mirziyoyeva also visited the Navoi polyclinic in one of the remote villages of Urgut. According to the head of the AP, the building, built in 1972, has long needed major repairs, new standards for organizing work, and improving the quality of services. This institution provides primary care to more than 13 thousand residents of the mahalla.

For about 16 villages, it is the only nearest institution where they receive childbirth. The workload is enormous, and the conditions and possibilities don’t require commentary against the backdrop of persistent rain hitting the grey windows of stale offices. It is important to understand that we are not talking about the problem of a particular polyclinic. This is a reflection of a larger situation — the lag in the organization of primary health care, — the report says.

Mirziyoyeva studied the new master plan for improving healthcare in the region with specialists.

This is not just a repair of buildings, but a revision of the approach to the primary healthcare system itself. What I saw today once again proved indisputable: healthcare problems cannot be judged only by reports and documents, — said the head of the PA.
