From December 8 to 13, a meeting of the 20th session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage is taking place in New Delhi. This was announced by the head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva.

Within the framework of the event, two unique cultural values of Karakalpakstan — the kobyz and the yurt — were officially included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. The head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva, said that this is an important and truly historic day.

This international recognition reaffirms the depth of our traditions, the strength of our spiritual heritage, and the enduring connection between generations, — Saida Mirziyoyeva wrote.

The head of the PA expressed gratitude to all masters, researchers, guardians of traditions, and enthusiasts who contributed to the preservation and promotion of the rich heritage.

This is a victory for our entire culture. We continue to move forward while carefully preserving what makes us unique, — she concluded.
