About 50 Russian citizens accuse Uzbekistan’s Air Samarkand company of delaying salaries for three months, Shot reports.

Employees are waiting for their salaries to be paid from June. Some employees, including Russian citizens, have left the company, with only “aviation enthusiasts” remaining. Money isn’t even given for food and rent.

A similar situation was observed in spring, but then the flight attendants, pilots, and other personnel were able to press the issue and receive their salaries. Company representatives inform the dissatisfied employees that the problem with salary payments is related to delays by customers who do not pay the debt on time.

In April 2024, Air Samarkand’s press service acknowledged the salary problem that arose due to delayed aircraft deliveries, noting that such problems were typical for the young airline, and “difficult but vital decisions” were made to reduce a number of ineffective positions with corresponding payments. Then 75 people were fired.
