Uzbekistan will introduce the practice of predicting earthquakes in the long term using artificial intelligence, according to a government decree.
According to the information, the authorities plan to create a system for monitoring the seismic resistance of cultural heritage sites and transport facilities, as well as to digitize the seismic safety sphere and study the possibilities of applying AI technologies in it. The authorities were also instructed to study the soils for construction and take the necessary measures to increase their strength.
In addition, starting January 1, 2026, the country will organize continuous radar space monitoring of landslide-prone areas on the “A-373” and “M-39” highways, as well as on railways passing through mountainous areas. In addition, it is planned to begin forecasting strong earthquakes in the medium and long term using artificial intelligence in areas with high seismological risk.
Thus, at the initial stage, using the example of Tashkent, forecasting of strong earthquakes using artificial intelligence is organized. Further, on March 1, 2026, an analysis of the technical condition of buildings and structures for seismic resistance will also be carried out using artificial intelligence.
Earlier, it was reported that AI will help in detecting and preventing emergencies in Uzbekistan. The sphere of protecting the country’s population will reach a new level.
