In Uzbekistan, the procedure for organizing tutoring activities in universities has been approved, and tasks and requirements for them have been defined, Norma reports.

According to the information, to work as a tutor, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in higher education, with preference given to citizens with academic degrees and academic titles. Also, candidates must not be deprived of the right to teach in accordance with the legislation and must have a deep knowledge of the methodology and practice of spiritual, educational, and upbringing work, possess pedagogical and psychological knowledge and experience.

In addition, citizens must possess exemplary personal qualities, including culture, responsibility, activity, patriotism, and initiative. It is noted that tutoring is the main type of work. Among the tasks of tutors, it is defined to facilitate the adaptation of students to the educational process, ensure the meaningful organization of their free time, monitor their living conditions in dormitories, etc.

It is planned to assign from 120 to 150 full-time undergraduate students of the 1st-3rd years of study to each tutor. The authorities also plan to develop a system for evaluating the effectiveness of tutors’ activities.

Previously, it was reported that funding for universities in Uzbekistan would depend on scores. The establishments will be able to receive them in several categories.
