On November 10, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with medical and pharmaceutical workers at Tashkent State Medical University, the presidential press service reports.

The Head of State will familiarize himself with the work of the university. He will present state awards to healthcare and pharmaceutical workers and discuss the effectiveness of reforms in the system and priority tasks for next year.

Modern medicine cannot be imagined without pharmaceuticals. I believe that starting this year, this holiday should be celebrated as “Medical and Pharmaceutical Workers’ Day,” and I hope you will support this idea”, — said the president.

Mirziyoyev noted that centers, districts, and regional healthcare departments and divisions that do not work on digitalization, finding foreign partners, updating clinical protocols, and forming a modern team for advanced diagnostics, prevention, and treatment have no future.

The head of the Republican Oncology Center was dismissed and a qualified manager from Turkey was appointed in his place. The world-renowned French clinical center “Gustave Rousseau” was also involved in the center. The implementation of their clinical protocols will begin.

Let all the heads of the centers hear: the centers are not private property, they belong to the state and the people, each leader should draw conclusions and get a major plan for the year — within three months, they should find a foreign partner and change the situation themselves, or we will do it without them, — Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Directors of 26 centers, heads of healthcare departments of regions and districts, and heads of family polyclinics will transition to work according to a monthly plan. They will announce to the population the tasks they have undertaken, which diseases are most common, and how to reduce them.

The heads of healthcare departments of regions and districts will meet with residents on the ground. The President instructed to conduct a dialogue with the people so that citizens would give their assessment of the system. They will also explain the importance of taking care of health, timely medical examinations, proper nutrition, and physical activity.

Ask yourself: how much time does the patient spend when they arrive at the hospital or clinic, how satisfied is they with the service they receive? Leaders should put themselves in the patient’s shoes, go from door to doctor’s office, visit the X-ray, laboratory, ultrasound, ECG, go up and down different floors, then they will understand people’s condition and find the answer to this question, — Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Recall that the President has taken large-scale measures to support healthcare workers. Medical workers will receive bonuses, benefits, and new support measures, including allowances, housing assistance, and training.
