In Uzbekistan, they want to introduce administrative liability for concealing the fact of changing the mileage of a car before sale, according to the draft document.

Experts noted that recently, cases of falsification of the readings of the odometer, which counts the rotation of the wheels during movement, have been recorded in the country. This maneuver allows sellers to sell used cars at inflated prices.

In this regard, the authorities proposed to introduce administrative liability for unscrupulous citizens. In particular, failure to inform the buyer before the vehicle is sold that the readings of the odometer device have been changed or the device itself has been replaced will result in a fine of 10 to 15 BCV (4.12 million to 6.18 million soums).

Earlier, it was reported that violations of traffic rules recorded by cameras would result in penalties. A procedure for the distribution of responsibility between the owner and the driver of the car will be introduced in the country.
