In Uzbekistan, a criminal case has been initiated against an officer of a pre-trial detention center in the Tashkent region, where a 31-year-old convict escaped from a settlement colony while working and raped a 3rd-grade student, the press service of the National Agency for Social Protection of the Population reports.
The department reported that the perpetrator has been detained and arrested. Law enforcement officers initiated a criminal case against him under Articles 118 (Rape) and Part 4 of Article 119 (Forced satisfaction of sexual needs in an unnatural form, committed against a person under the age of fourteen).
Also, specialists reported that the injured girl is currently receiving primary medical care. A psychologist works with her. The agency noted that it took the case under its personal control. To ensure the rights, psychological, and social protection of the minor victim, specialists formed a working group consisting of representatives from the “Inson” social services center.
In addition, the department said that the guards initiated a criminal case against the guard of the disciplinary unit of the Main Investigation Detention Center of the Penitentiary Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other persons under Article 214, Part 3, Clause “v” (Illegal receipt by an official of a state body, organization with state participation, or self-government body of citizens of material values or property benefits by a group of persons by prior agreement).
It should be noted that the incident occurred on October 16 in the Ohangaron district. A man escaped from the colony-settlement №50 during labor work and raped a 3rd-grade student. After this, the perpetrator was caught by local residents in a field. In 2018, he was sentenced to 16 years in prison under Article 118, Part 4 of the Criminal Code (Rape of a person under the age of 14) and sentenced to 2033 years in prison. By court decision in August 2024, he was transferred to a settlement colony to serve the remaining 9 years 2 months and 19 days of his sentence.
