In Surkhandarya region, a 28-year-old woman who had been expecting a child for five years lost her baby and blamed the maternity hospital staff for negligence, Batafsil reports.

The incident occurred in the Shurchi district. According to the victim’s sister, the woman’s condition worsened within a day after being admitted to the hospital on November 4th. However, the medical staff did not provide the necessary assistance, and the baby died in the womb. According to the complainant, such tragedies have occurred in the district maternity hospital before.

The woman claims that the ultrasound performed on the same day, as well as screenings and documentation throughout the pregnancy, confirmed that the fetus was completely healthy, positioned correctly, and ready for delivery. On November 5, after lunch, the woman’s condition sharply worsened, and severe pain began.

Despite the relatives’ appeals, the doctors paid no attention to her condition and did not examine the patient. It is noted that due to the indifference of doctors within 2-3 hours, the healthy fetus was left without fluid and died in the womb. Later, to save the mother’s life, doctors obtained consent for a cesarean section.

According to the complainant, if the cesarean section had been performed in time, the child could have been saved. She believes that the hospital staff were negligent and refused to provide the necessary information. In particular, the maternity hospital staff refused to issue the full package of medical documents for pregnancy and childbirth to relatives.

The woman only managed to photograph the latest ultrasound results. At the moment when the pregnant woman’s condition worsened, the ultrasound doctor also did not give any explanation to her sister. The medical examination was limited to issuing a permit for the burial of the infant.

The Prosecutor’s Office received an appeal from the victim, and the regional Health Department reported that an investigation has been launched into the incident involving the maternity hospital staff.

Recall that in Samarkand, a nurse stole and sold a newborn baby for 6 million soums. The offender stole a baby from a woman who was registered as mentally ill.
