Residents of Uzbekistan have been warned about temporary power outages in the evenings
At the new Syrdarya TPP, ACWA Power is replacing a faulty rotor, in connection with which part of the power is being repaired.

Due to the repair of the Sirdarya Thermal Power Plant built by ACWA Power and the seasonal decrease in solar power generation, power supply may be temporarily restricted in some regions of Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reports.
A rotor malfunction was discovered in gas turbine No. 2 of this power plant. In order to quickly restore the operation of the 1500 MW TPP, the new unit was manufactured and delivered within the framework of the manufacturer’s and investor’s guaranteed obligations.
The equipment, weighing 114 tons, was manufactured by Mitsubishi and delivered to Tashkent International Airport on a special flight on December 8th, from where it was immediately transported to the station site. Installation and testing will take about a month.
Due to the shutdown of part of the station’s power, additional backup sources and new power units are being used. At the same time, there is a decrease in solar generation in the country — due to cloud cover and short daylight hours.
For this reason, in order to regulate the balance of electricity production and consumption, as well as to maintain their balance, in some regions, short-term power outages may be observed, mainly during periods of increased consumption (from 17:00 to 21:00), — the message says.
If necessary, consumers will be notified in advance. These measures are aimed at ensuring the stability and safety of energy supply.
After the installation of a new rotor on the gas turbine, the projected production capacity of the station will be restored and temporary power supply measures will be suspended.
We apologize to the consumers for the inconvenience caused, — the Ministry concluded.
