The Senate of the Oliy Majlis approved the law on the State Budget of Uzbekistan for 2026, the press service of the upper house of parliament reports.
The Law was thoroughly studied with the participation of the general public and responsible organizations within the framework of sessions of local Councils and meetings of Senate committees. During the review process, an in-depth analysis of the distribution of budget funds, the validity of priority areas, and their effectiveness was conducted.
In the State Budget for 2026, priority will be given to social areas: improving the living standards of the population, increasing the well-being of citizens, developing a “green economy”, protecting the environment, expanding the coverage of the healthcare system, and ensuring quality education.
In particular, about 55% of state budget expenditures — 220 trillion soums — are directed to the social sphere. Of these, 100 trillion soums are allocated for education, and 49 trillion soums for healthcare, which is 11.4% more than this year.
The projected inflation rate for 2026 is about 7%. State budget expenditures are planned at 402.6 trillion soums, and revenues at 368.9 trillion soums. Revenues of state targeted funds will amount to 78.6 trillion soums, and expenditures — 74.4 trillion soums.
Consolidated budget revenues will amount to 515.8 trillion soums, expenditures — 567.6 trillion soums, while the deficit will not exceed 3% of the gross domestic product.
During the discussion, the senators paid special attention to the issues of increasing budget revenues, the targeted and effective use of funds, and the consistent implementation of macroeconomic tasks. It was also noted that it is necessary to solve social problems in a timely and high-quality manner, develop the infrastructure of mahallas, and implement important measures stipulated by state programs.
Following the discussion, the senators approved the Law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2026”.
