The law enforcement officer was caught red-handed while receiving a bribe.

In Tashkent, a resident appealed to law enforcement and reported that a police officer demanded a bribe from him, the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reports.
The citizen said that an employee of the Citizenship Registration Department of the Department for Coordination of Activities of the Internal Affairs Department of the Shaykhantakhur district promised to issue an ID card with “attractive numbers” to the resident. In addition, the law enforcement officer demanded $1,500 for his services.
During the operation, the officer was detained in the presence of witnesses while receiving $1000 from the agreed amount. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 210 (obtaining a bribe) of the Criminal Code. An investigation into the case has begun.
Recall that in Fergana and Namangan, assistant governors were detained for bribery. State Security Service officers apprehended the officials while receiving the money.
