In the US, an unknown individual opened fire on the grounds of Brown University during exams, resulting in the death of an Uzbek student, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs press service reports.
As a result of the shooting, two people were killed, one of them — a citizen of Uzbekistan, student Muhammadaziz Umurzakov. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions in the United States are in constant contact with Mukhammadaziz’s relatives and are cooperating with American agencies on necessary issues.

The loss of innocent people as a result of this tragedy was a heavy loss for all of us, — the message says.
The deceased was a first-year student at Brown University and was studying neurosurgery. The circumstances of the incident are currently being investigated. CNN reports that the suspect in the shooting, 24-year-old Benjamin Erikson from Wisconsin, has been detained.
