In Samarkand region, two women tried to sell a 15-year-old boy for 50 million soums, the press service of the Region Department of Internal Affairs reported.

The incident occurred in Kattakurgan district. A woman approached the law enforcement officers and reported that two citizens were attempting to sell a 15-year-old boy for 50 million soums. She provided an audio recording as evidence. On June 11, the women, including the boy’s aunt, were detained while receiving 20 million soums.

It turned out that the 15-year-old boy lived in the SOS Children’s Village, which deals with children left without parental care or at risk of social orphanhood. It should be recalled that in Bukhara a couple sold a baby to finance the opening of a hairdressing salon. The buyers later turned the criminals in to the authorities out of guilt.
