Uzbekistan, together with the IAEA, will combat the salinization of territories
The parties will conduct an experiment on the use of innovative natural fertilizers in agriculture.

Uzbekistan, together with the IAEA, will launch a joint research project to combat soil salinization, “Dunyo” reports.
The project is being implemented by the agency’s representatives together with the Center for Analysis of Soil Composition, Repository and Quality under the Ministry of Agriculture of the country. Specialists will be engaged in research and development of sustainable farming methods and soil salinity reduction.
It is planned that the use of modern technologies will contribute to increasing soil fertility, increasing crop yields, and preparing practical recommendations for farmers. It is noted that the implementation of the project will be an important step towards strengthening scientific and practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and the IAEA.
Earlier, the date of the start of construction of a small nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan was announced. The IAEA positively assessed the construction capabilities at the chosen site in the Jizzakh region.
