On December 24, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on his birthday during a telephone conversation.
According to the information, the leader of Uzbekistan noted the historical role of the leader of Azerbaijan in strengthening independence, uniting the country, ensuring its sustainable development, and enhancing its international authority. The parties also considered pressing issues of further expanding and strengthening Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of friendship and alliance in the context of implementing high-level agreements.
The representatives of the two countries noted the fruitful results of joint work in the current Year of Economic Cooperation. It was also emphasized that fruitful contacts and exchanges are continuing at all levels between the countries. The volume of mutual trade is growing dynamically, projects in 20 priority areas are in the active phase based on the “roadmap”.
A rich program of cultural and humanitarian exchange is being implemented. The leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan also exchanged views on the international agenda and reviewed the schedule of upcoming events.
