On January 16, due to a sharp drop in air temperature, the energy system switched to an enhanced mode of operation, the Ministry of Energy reported.
In the fuel and energy system, additional measures have been taken to ensure stable operation in cold weather conditions. Additional technical inspections have been carried out at electricity, heat, and gas supply facilities, and production and supply capacities have been adapted to the current weather conditions.
- Responsible services are working in an enhanced mode, around the clock.
The Ministry of Energy noted that during the cold weather, energy consumption is expected to increase, which may lead to the introduction of temporary technical restrictions. Emphasis was placed on the stable supply of electricity and gas to residential buildings and social facilities.
Consumers were advised to rationally use electricity and gas, and to preserve heat in their homes. Heating appliances should not be left unattended. During their operation, it is necessary to ensure ventilation of the premises. The condition of chimneys and ventilation systems should be checked regularly.
To prevent carbon monoxide poisoning, open fires or faulty heating appliances should not be used indoors. If possible, it is recommended to use carbon monoxide sensors, — the Ministry added.
Residents of Uzbekistan can contact 24/7 call centers regarding electricity supply at 1154, and for gas supply at 1104 or 104.
