A professional adoptive family service will be established in Uzbekistan for children taken from families due to violence, according to a government decree.
According to the information, it will begin operating from February 1, 2026. Children removed from families due to violence, as well as those at risk and in a socially dangerous situation, will be accepted into the program. Children will be placed in professional foster families based on an agreement concluded between them and the “Inson” centers.
It is noted that such adoptive parents will receive monthly payments of two times the minimum wage for the care of each placed child. Also, the authorities will allocate funds for the maintenance of each child placed in such a family in accordance with the legislation on the maintenance of children in family orphanages.
At the same time, candidates for the organization of a professional foster family will undergo training based on social rehabilitation programs aimed at reducing the negative impact of psychological trauma on children as a result of violence, eliminating behavioral deviations and their consequences.
Also, a system called “Kind House” will begin operating in the country from March 1, 2026. It will be created for parents of children in need of social protection in “Inson” centers. Parents will be involved in the program based on decisions of the Children’s Affairs Commissions in the regions and Tashkent. The authorities will provide them with free “family therapy” services to restore damaged relationships with their children’s families and assist in their socialization.
At the expense of the state budget, authorities will provide legal assistance to children who have suffered from violence, as well as those who have witnessed violence. Also, now the initial testimony of children will be recorded on video, and administrative responsibility will be introduced for failure to inform about the identified facts of violence against children by employees of education, healthcare, or social sphere.
Earlier, it was reported that the debauchery of children on the Internet would be reclassified. The Senate approved the tightening of liability for such crimes.
