Products with expiring shelf life will be sold at lower prices

Such products will not be allowed to be displayed next to fresh products.

In Uzbekistan, within the framework of the Save Food program, special counters will be organized in stores for goods with expired shelf life, due to which their price will be lower, according to a government decree.

According to the information, such counters will be installed near the entrance. Products with suitable expiration dates will be displayed there separately, which will significantly lower their price. At the same time, their cost will decrease every ten days. According to the document, such products will not be allowed to be displayed on ordinary shelves next to fresh goods.

The Tax Committee and the Ministry of Health will monitor the implementation of this measure. It is planned that this will help reduce food waste in public catering and prevent excessive waste.

Earlier, it was reported that in Uzbekistan, public catering establishments will be required to install filters and fat traps. This requirement will become a mandatory clause when connecting to the sewerage system.
