The US has suspended the Green Card raffle program following a shooting at Brown University, where an Uzbek student was killed, according to US Interior Minister Christie Noem.

According to him, the decision is related to the recent shooting at Brown University. The suspect in the attack is 48-year-old Claudio Neves, a Portuguese citizen, who entered the US in 2017 under this program.

In 2017, President Trump fought to end this program after a devastating truck attack in New York by an ISIS terrorist who entered through DV1 and killed eight people. “Following President Trump’s instructions, I immediately instruct the USCIS to suspend the DV1 program so that no American will suffer further from this catastrophic program”, — Noam stated.

It’s worth noting that an Uzbek student was killed in a shooting on the grounds of Brown University. The deceased was a first-year student studying neurosurgery.
