The import of cars registered to citizens is expected to be reduced
The decision is based on measures to combat the shadow economy.
Uzbekistan wants to reduce the import of cars in the name of individuals, as follows from the presidential decree on reducing the shadow economy.
A document is expected to be prepared by March 1, 2026, providing for the simplification of non-tariff control and processing of imports at border customs posts.
The authorities will also provide for a reduction in the volume of imported passenger cars in the name of individuals by simplifying non-tariff measures for legal entities when importing cars. The decision must be made by March 1.
By February 1, it is planned to establish information interaction between the Customs Committee and the UZIMEI Center when registering the IMEI codes of smartphones.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan approved the procedure for issuing environmental stickers for cars. Transport will be divided into three categories depending on the ecological class.
