From 2 September, the sale of AI-80 gasoline through exchange trading was fully halted in Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reports.

According to the presidential decrees “On the State Program for the Implementation of the “Uzbekistan — 2030” Strategy in the “Year of Environmental Protection and a “Green” Economy”, “Uzbekneftegaz” planned to gradually transition to AI-92 production, and from September, only high-octane gasoline will be put up for exchange trading.

If previously 1000 tons of AI-92 petrol were offered for sale, now this figure has increased to 1720 tons. Based on domestic market demand, there is potential to boost these volumes. The quantities of AИ-80 petrol purchased by entrepreneurs in August this year will be delivered to their owners in September within the framework of obligations and available balances.

It should be remembered that until the end of the year, the use of fuel oil as a fuel by enterprises producing thermal and electrical energy across all regions of the republic will also be entirely banned. An exception will be made for cases where fuel oil is used as emergency fuel, with notification to the Ministry of Ecology and the Cabinet of Ministers.
