Uzbekistan will expand visa issuance for IT specialists
Foreign talents will also be able to receive special loans.
The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution on improving the procedure for issuing IT visas.
The decision was made within the framework of the “Uzbekistan — 2030” strategy to increase the export of IT services and attract international experts.
The IT visa is issued to foreign founders and participants of startup projects, specialists and teachers with a Candidate of Sciences, PhD or DSc degree in information technology at leading foreign universities, individuals performing the functions of a sole executive body or the chairman of the collegial executive body of a legal entity — an IT Park resident.
Within the framework of training highly qualified specialists at the international level, targeted loans are provided to support the IT sector and increase its export potential.
The measures are aimed at strengthening Uzbekistan’s position as a center of technological innovations and attracting foreign talents to develop the domestic IT sector, — the document states.
Earlier, it was reported that Switzerland would pay for the training of programmers in Uzbekistan. The main focus will be on improving the qualifications of young people and ensuring employment for women.
