Uzbekistan will cooperate with OpenAI in AI
The parties considered the implementation of technologies in education.

Uzbekistan and OpenAI held a meeting to discuss cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence development and digitalization, according to Hikmatilla Ubaydullayev, Deputy Head of the Department of Financial Technologies, Digitalization, and Artificial Intelligence of the Presidential Administration.
According to the information, the parties held an online meeting, during which the Uzbek side presented the national strategy in the field of artificial intelligence and digitalization. The parties also discussed the launch of ChatGPT EDU — an OpenAI educational platform that will allow teachers and students to work with powerful language models in a secure environment and create their own AI assistants.
Additionally, the topic of personalized learning was discussed, particularly the ability of AI to select suitable topics for students and for teachers to find gaps, assign individual tasks, automate work checks, and reduce bureaucracy. The parties discussed additions to the national “1 Million AI Leaders” program with expertise and OpenAI courses to enable schoolchildren, students, and teachers to work with AI at the level of world standards.
The company also expressed its readiness to consider the possibility of providing preferential access and loans for API use, as well as participation in hackathons and acceleration programs. The Uzbek side presented plans to create a GPU cluster and an Uzbek-language data corpus, an infrastructure necessary for localizing and adapting models to national culture and language.
OpenAI representatives noted that their models already confidently understand the Uzbek language and expressed interest in further joint development of this area. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to prepare a roadmap in areas such as implementing ChatGPT EDU in universities, developing mass AI education, and supporting startup initiatives and hackathons.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan’s schoolchildren would be taught artificial intelligence lessons. A new subject will be introduced for the upper years.
