On December 31, on the eve of the New Year, the press service of the Ministry of Health published an appeal to the people of Uzbekistan, urging them not to neglect their diet during the holidays.
Citizens traditionally prepare various dishes for the New Year’s table. But don’t forget that excessive consumption of fatty, fried, highly salty, and sweet foods during the holiday period creates excessive strain on the gastrointestinal tract, liver, cardiovascular system, and sugar metabolism.
Especially in patients with chronic diseases, such a condition can lead to the exacerbation of the disease.
The Ministry of Health believes it is advisable to follow the following recommendations when eating during the holidays:
- choose cooked, stewed, or steamed products instead of fried and difficult-to-digest foods;
- limit the consumption of salads with mayonnaise, meat products and salted products;
- give preference to vegetables, greens, and natural fruits;
- consume sweets in moderation, drink clean drinking water or green tea instead of sweet drinks;
- eat slowly, at the appointed time, and avoid overeating in the evening.
- Also, sufficient water intake during holidays helps maintain metabolism in the body and maintains a stable general state.
The Ministry of Health urges citizens to celebrate the New Year with joy and good spirits, but with a responsible attitude towards their health. A conscious and balanced diet will allow you to take a healthy step into the New Year without diminishing the joy of the holiday, — the message says.
