The Tashkent airport’s arrival terminal has been renovated: a spacious hall, a new parking lot, and an end to the chaos of taxi traffic
Welcoming people will no longer stand outside waiting for their relatives and loved ones.

The Tashkent International Airport has completed the next stage of reconstruction, which included the renovation of the arrival hall, the opening of a terrace overlooking the city, and a new VIP hall at the departure terminal. This was reported by NOVA24 correspondent.
The area of the arrival hall was increased by almost 2200 square meters due to the advancement of the building’s facade. Now the area for greeters has become more spacious: about 5000 square meters and about 200 seats.

Airport Director Jasur Pulatov noted that these changes are aimed not only at increasing the country’s tourism potential but also at creating comfortable conditions for the residents themselves.
The main goal of the renovation is not only to develop the tourism potential and create comfortable conditions for the country’s guests, but, first of all, to make it pleasant for our citizens to use the new airport, — he noted.
Not long ago, greeters were waiting outside, whether it was hot or cold. Only passengers with tickets were allowed to enter the building. If an elderly person or a minor arrived, they were met by only one person, and only with all the required documents.
Now the entrance to the welcoming zone is open to everyone. The hall is separated by a transparent glass partition, making the view open and comfortable. The interior features cooling and heating systems to maintain comfort in any weather.

To clear the area of “bombs” and traffic jams, an additional access lane was built nearby. The first road is now used only by tourist buses and the airport’s official taxi. Two taxi operators are officially working in the arrival zone, and four more will start operating in the coming days. Car rental points are also being opened.
The second lane is intended for meeting vehicles and taxi aggregators, however, they can stop at the arrival hall for no more than 10 minutes. Video surveillance cameras integrated with the Ministry of Internal Affairs system will monitor compliance with the rules. If the limit is exceeded, the fine will be calculated according to the same principle as at the departure terminal.
The parking lot has also expanded, now it combines two parking spaces and can accommodate 347 cars. For those who wait longer, separate parking spaces are provided.

A separate overpass for luggage has also been added, which will simplify passenger movement, and a fifth luggage strap has been added. Thanks to this, waiting time has been reduced to 18 minutes, almost half as short as before. Now baggage carousels can serve eight flights at a time instead of ten. In the future, it is planned to install another ribbon.

Jasur Pulatov also shared that the reconstruction was mainly carried out using local construction materials, which helped reduce costs. The next stage will be the unification of arrival and departure halls into a single terminal complex. After the completion of the reconstruction, the total area of the terminal will exceed 16,000 square meters, and the capacity will increase to 2400 passengers per hour.

In addition, a new terrace overlooking the city with an area of about 2200 square meters was opened. It is located on the second floor of the departure terminal and is accessible to both passengers and those meeting them. The green landscape area is equipped with canopies and benches, and in summer, a microclimate system with a fog-forming function will operate here. From the terrace, you can see the city, the dispatch tower, and the apron, where you can observe the takeoff of aircraft. In the near future, cafes, bars, and ice cream points will open on the terrace.

The VIP lounge at the departure terminal has also expanded. A spacious hall with an area of 300 square meters was added to the existing area of 1100 square meters. This made it possible to visually enlarge the hall and add more spaces for passengers to relax.
