The President congratulated medical workers on their professional holiday
In 2025, robots began to be used for the first time in the national healthcare system, and artificial intelligence is being actively introduced.

The presidential press service published Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s congratulations on the Day of Medical Workers of Uzbekistan, which is celebrated annually on the second Sunday of November.
The Head of State emphasized that human health is “a priceless wealth and great benefit for every person and society as a whole”. According to him, only a healthy nation is capable of great achievements.
In recent years, the volume of healthcare financing in Uzbekistan has increased significantly — six times compared to the previous period. The material and technical base and personnel potential of medical institutions have improved, and quality services have become more accessible even at the mahalla level.
In particular, according to Mirziyoyev, today more than 400 types of high-tech medical services, previously provided only in Tashkent, have become available in the regions. 490 medical institutions have been reorganized in the country, and 350 family polyclinics with the status of legal entities have been created.
Since 2017, maternal mortality has decreased from 21 to 11 per mille, and infant mortality has decreased from 11.5 to 7.8 per mille. Life expectancy in our country has increased from 73.8 to 75.1 years.
The head of state also addressed the digitalization of medicine. This year, robotics has begun to be used in government institutions for the first time. A unified DMED electronic platform containing health data of more than 36 million citizens has been launched, and a Digital Health Center has been established within the Ministry of Health system. The number of medical procedures performed using artificial intelligence has reached 43, and an electronic emergency call management system has been implemented.
Over eight years, the number of private clinics has increased from 3.5 thousand to 9 thousand, and the types of services they provide — from 50 to almost 130. The volume of production of national medicines increased from 1.4 to 6.3 trillion soums, and exports — from 6.3 million to 250 million dollars.
The President recalled the reforms in the medical education system: Tashkent State Medical University was established, Urgench Medical Institute began its work, and Samarkand Medical University entered the international THE ranking.
Strengthening the peace and health of the people remains a priority of state policy, and the work of medical workers will continue to be duly appreciated, — Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It is worth noting that teachers, social workers, and healthcare workers traditionally receive salaries, and the average indicators in these areas are lower than the national average.
