On January 16, the head of the Fergana Regional Department of Preschool and School Education was fined for unlawfully dismissing the director of School No. 37 in Buvayda district, the Labor Inspection reported.
Earlier, the director arranged round-the-clock duty for teachers at the school during the New Year holidays, after which he was fired. Later it turned out that the director was carrying out a direct order from the Education Department. According to a representative of the Ministry of Education, the decree did not provide for teachers to be present at the workplace. At the same time, the department did not specify who was supposed to be on duty in this case.
After that, the man was reinstated as director. The head of the Education Department for Fergana region was fined for illegal actions in dismissing the director.
Additionally, administrative penalties were imposed on the head of the Khorezm Regional Department of Public Education for violating labor laws, as well as the head of the Uchtepa District Department of Public Education for obstructing the performance of pedagogical duties.
As a reminder, Uzbekistan plans to double the salaries of teachers and educators by 2030. The authorities also plan to increase the number of graduates studying in pedagogical fields.
