Tashkent residents were fined billions of soums for improperly dumping of garbage

In Tashkent, within the framework of the “Toza Hudud” and “Toza Poytaxt” projects, law enforcement officers imposed fines of 2 billion soums for violations of the rules for removing and disposing of garbage in unauthorized places, the press service of the capital’s khokimiyat reports.

According to the information, during this period, 812 units of special equipment removed more than 14 thousand tons of household and solid waste from 585 mahallas and delivered them to landfills. In addition, specialists cleaned the territories of 8,573 apartment buildings, performed sanitary treatment, and cared for 2,890 trees.

Also, at 12 sites, 10 km of water bodies were cleaned of household and industrial waste. As a result, specialists removed 315 tons of waste. In addition, the sanitary condition of 594 facilities was checked, and 365 violations were eliminated. The city administration reminded of the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of the capital and warned that strict measures are being taken against the offenders.

Earlier, it was reported that more than a thousand citizens in Uzbekistan complained about poor waste removal. Responsible organizations violated the waste collection schedule while demanding payment from citizens.
