Starting from 2026, farmers will begin to insure the harvest

A fund has been established in the country to cover damages for damaged products.

An Agricultural Insurance Fund has been established in Uzbekistan, which will be responsible for compensating for damaged crops, according to a government decree.

According to the information, the fund will be engaged in compensation for damage caused to plants and animals by natural and man-made disasters, as well as by fires and pests. The organization will also focus on gradually increasing agricultural production by 2030. In particular, it is planned to increase production volumes by 20%, as well as to significantly reduce the risks of consumers of such products.

For this purpose, starting from 2026, farmers will begin to gradually insure against product loss risks through preferential production loans. At the same time, the debts of clusters, farms, and other agricultural enterprises for preferential loans will not be covered by an insurance contract. By the end of 2025, the authorities will launch an information system for agricultural insurance.

Earlier, it was reported that mentorship in cotton growing will appear in Uzbekistan. The authorities plan to award cash prizes to experienced farmers who can improve the performance of their assigned farmers.
