Private clinics will be able to provide medical care at the expense of the state budget

The Government adopted a corresponding resolution.

In Uzbekistan, the procedure for providing medical care at the expense of the state budget has been determined, as well as the categories of citizens who can use these services have been determined, according to a government decree.

According to the information, it is planned that private and state institutions will be able to provide budgetary medical care for referrals. At the district (city) and territorial levels — all categories of the population will be able to receive it, and at the republican level — only preferential categories of patients.

For this, patients will need to contact the primary healthcare facility to which they are attached. After that, the family doctor assigned to the person or family will conduct a medical examination within 1 working day in accordance with the current clinical protocols and standards.

Further, if there are indications, a narrow-profile specialist or family doctor will issue a referral to the citizen for planned inpatient medical care through the information system. At the same time, patients’ data will be studied by republican level medical selection commissions in the relevant field, and based on the results, a person will be able to obtain a conclusion within 2 working days through the information system.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan plans to implement an “Online doctor” consultation system in the ambulance service starting in 2026. The authorities plan to direct a number of measures to reduce the time spent by ambulance crews.
